‘Marie’s Amazing Asia Art’ is a curated collection of indigenous objects of art and design, culturally significant both then and now.

 

She is a respected resource for designers, tribal art dealers, museums, and International collectors.

Marie has for more than forty years been actively dealing in artifacts, textiles and ‘decor with purpose’. Beginning in the 70’s with an early eye on Americana and Folk Art, Textiles and Antique 18th/19th century Quilts. A shift in lifestyle brought her to living and working abroad, in 8 countries within Asia, and South East Asia as a Medical Assistant and with the US Peace Corp which kept her occupied but “in my free time I searched”.

“Over the past 30 years I have lived in many less developed countries and welcomed into their village’s and homes. This collection represents a glimpse into the global world in which we all live.”

 

Over the years she has offered her expertise to leading museums and auction houses, including; The Baguio Museum Kordilyera, Baguio, Philippines; The Bowers Museum, Santa Anna, California, and thru Bonhams in London and New York.

 

Art from 'Marie’s’ collections can also be found in private collections, including Vienna, Germany, London, La Jolla, California; Santa Fe, New Mexico; and Denver, Colorado.

The Bowers Museum Catalog choose a unique Chiefs neckpiece from her encompassing collection of Naga Items for a cover shot on their magazine. 

 She has lectured and exhibited on Asian artifacts, and American Textiles and Antiques in Singapore, Malaysia, California, Washington D.C, and New Mexico.

Her many exhibits include but are not limited to: Tangs International; Singapore, Bonhams Auction House; New York, and London; Santa Fe Objects of Art Show, San Francisco, California and Santa Fe, New Mexico; Bowers Museum; Santa Anna, California; Star of Texas Antique Show; Houston, Texas; Private Artist Show Collection; Pasadena, California.
